Cherkizovo Group to take part in SPIEF’19 business programme and sign a number of major agreements

Moscow, Russia – 5 June 2019 – Cherkizovo Group (MOEX: GCHE), the largest vertically integrated meat producer in Russia, will take an active part in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum and hold a number of important meetings with officials and business leaders.


Sergey Mikhailov, CEO of Cherkizovo Group, will speak at the panel session “Made in” – Addressing Reputational Risk in Global Food Markets to discuss what drives consumer choices for food products, Russia’s position in the global food rating, and ways to make Russian products eye-catching and to boost demand for them. The Cherkizovo Group also initiated We Are What We Eat panel session. Many countries take steps to promote healthy foods and run consumer awareness campaigns. Russia has also joined this trend with its national project Demography. As part of this initiative, efforts are made at the federal and regional levels to promote healthy lifestyles, including healthy nutrition. This and many other topics will be covered during this session.

At a meeting with Ivan Belozertsev, Governor of the Penza Region, Sergey Mikhailov will discuss further cooperation in the region, including pig farming development, investment project for the construction of new finisher sites in the Penza Region, upgrade of the Vasilyevskaya poultry farm and support of the Group’s poultry meat exports to China.

On the first day of the event, Sergey Mikhailov will also hold working meetings with Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov, CEO of Sodruzhestvo Management Company, Marc Carena, Managing Director of McDonald’s Russia, and Hartmut van Lengerich, Head of Global Crop Protection Asset Management at Bayer. Another meeting is slated to take place with Radiy Khabirov, Acting Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Cherkizovo Group will also sign memorandums and agreements on cooperation with Alexander Nikitin, Head of the Tambov Region Administration, and the management of Gorbatov’s All-Russian Meat Research Institute (VNIIMP).

On the second day, Sergey Mikhailov will take part in the Sberbank Business Breakfast, the Russia-China business dialogue, meet with Raisa Polyakova, General Manager, KFC Russia and CIS, sign a memorandum of cooperation with Alexey Petunin, Deputy Managing Director at SAP CIS, and an agreement on further cooperation with Viktor Tomenko, Governor of the Altai Territory.
