A large grain storage facility is under construction in Kamensky District
Governor of Penza Region Vasily Bochkarev and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cherkizovo Group Igor Babaev visited the Kamensky District site where construction of one of the largest grain storage facilities in the region is currently ongoing.
The facility is already more than 80% complete, with an expected launch date of the first part of the plant in the fall of 2013. Its overall storage capacity will be 100,000 tonnes of grain. Igor Babev said that about 50 jobs would be created at the new facility, as a result of investments of more 500 million rubles in the project.
“Penza Region is a special region for our company,” Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cherkizovo Group Igor Babaev said. “We have already implemented and continue to implement a large number of agricultural projects. We also plan to continue investing in the region’s agroindustrial complex. We are particularly interested in implementing projects in the meat processing and pig, grain and poultry farming divisions, which are promising sectors for Penza Region.
“Having a regional agroindustrial complex that is truly competitive on the Russian market is very important for us,” Vasily Bochkarev said in turn. “This is one of the major challenges facing Penza Region.”
The working visit to Kamensky District was followed by a presentation of Cherkizovo Group’s new sausage products.
