Goodwill reaches out

December 10, 2014

Cherkizovo Group is continuing its first ever regional charity campaign “Help the Children”. The company has committed to transfer a rouble from each package of Petelinka brand poultry meat products sold to “The Road Together” charity foundation. According to preliminary results, more than four million people in Moscow and several Russian regions have already responded to the call to help orphaned children. More than 4.3 million roubles have been collected to date. Fundraising continues.

The campaign is not a single-day event and will continue for more than a month to give more people a chance to contribute to children's happiness. It will run from November 17 to the end of December. All proceeds will be donated to orphanages in the seven regions where the company operates (Moscow, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Penza, and Tula Regions). Help will be provided where it is most needed.

Most importantly, instead of being general, the support will be targeted as much as possible. Just before the campaign started representatives of Cherkizovo Group personally visited more than ten children's institutions and together with their managers identified the priority needs of these children's homes, including repairs, buying clothes for the children, and equipment sets for sports fields.

Anyone buying Petelinka products will be able to find out where the money is being spent through the use of technology. By registering a code from the product package on the manufacturer's website, consumers will receive a link to a video featuring children from orphan asylums. Cherkizovo plans to provide a full report on the receipt and distribution of funds at the end of the campaign.

As Russia's largest producer of meat and feed, Cherkizovo Group is very socially minded. The company annually provides charitable and sponsorship assistance to people most in need wherever possible. The Group seeks to contribute to the development of social infrastructure in its regions of presence and create favourable conditions for realizing the potential of the younger generation.
