Moscow, Russia – September 6 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, ran a number of campaigns to support children as part of the International Day of Charity. Across several geographies, Cherkizovo financed repairs and improvements at educational facilities, and its Moscow office staged a fair of handicrafts made by children with special needs.

Our financial aid to educational institutions was timed to coincide with the International Day of Charity celebrated annually on September 5 to commemorate the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta who received the Nobel Peace Prize for her humanitarian work with the destitute. The UN General Assembly established the day in 2012 to promote local, national, regional and international charity across the globe.
