Moscow, Russia – May 6 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia's largest meat producer, has started supplying sausages to the Red&White chain of convenience stores, as it continues to build new partnerships with retailers operating nationwide. The convenience format is currently the most promising in Russia’s retail industry, showing growing demand for meat products.
In spring 2022, Cherkizovo Group began supplying meat products to Red&White, one of Russia’s largest convenience chains with 11,000 outlets in 61 regions across the country. At present, Cherkizovo goods are available in about 50 % of the chain's stores in Moscow, the northern areas of the Central Federal District, the Southern Federal District, and the Leningrad and Sverdlovsk regions. The Group plans to increase coverage to 90 % of the chain by starting shipments to Red&White outlets in Tatarstan, the Volga and Southern Ural regions.
The Company currently supplies cooked and smoked sausages and hams under the Cherkizovo brand, but plans to expand the offering going forward.
“We expect the promising convenience format to become one of the growth drivers for our sales in the Russian retail segment. We have been working with Bristol since the fall of 2021, and now are happy to launch partnership with Red&White, a leading convenience store industry player. The project has every chance for success given the growing demand for meat products among the chain’s customers,” said Oleg Zakov, Director at Cherkizovo Trade House.
The first Red&White store opened in 2006 in the Chelyabinsk Region. As at the end of 2021, the chain’s selling space totaled over 706,000 sq m. Red&White and Bristol are both part of Mercury Retail Group. According
