Moscow, Russia – December 28, 2020 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia's largest meat producer, has sent its warmest New Year wishes to children at orphanages and from low-income families. Over 650 children from eight regions of Russia received a special holiday gift set from the Company.
Over the last few weeks of December, Cherkizovo Group organised the delivery of presents in celebration of the New Year for children living in care institutions and those from low-income families. The charitable initiative was run throughout Cherkizovo’s regions of operation, where the Company often supports the local population through social projects, including in the Altai Territory, and the Lipetsk, Tula, Penza, Moscow, Orel, Tambov and Bryansk regions.
“Given the challenging epidemiological situation, unfortunately, we were not able to hold our traditional New Year performances for children this year. But, as a company, we knew we could not leave the kids completely without presents. In this exceptionally difficult year, when we have all had to spend time by ourselves in isolation, it is really important that we can give the gift of care and attention to the people around us. This is especially important for children who find themselves in a difficult situation,” commented Anastasia Mikhailova, Head of Communications at Cherkizovo Group.
In total, Cherkizovo Group put together over 650 holiday gift sets for the children. Most included sweets, but some also offered special educational games, construction sets and games to help develop the children’s creativity. Moreover, in some regions, the Company also donated money to help buy certain essential goods for children. For example, in the Lipetsk region, the money was used to buy computers for the Kovcheg children’s social and rehabilitation centre.
