Cherkizovo Group participates in International Green Week 2020
Berlin, Germany – January 20, 2020 – Cherkizovo Group, the largest vertically integrated meat producer in Russia, is taking part in International Green Week (IGW), an exhibition of the food, agriculture and gardening industries. Cherkizovo's stand at the exhibition features comprehensive information about its products and operations.
Friday, January 17, marked the beginning of the 85th International Green Week, which runs until January 26. Russian companies have been represented at the event since 1994.
Cherkizovo Group, whose products have received multiple gold awards at IGW since 2003, has set up an eye-catching stand, where visitors can access a wealth of information about our products and brands. They will learn, for example, that three of the Group's facilities – Tambov Turkey (a JV with Spain’s Grupo Fuertes), Vasilyevskaya poultry farm (Penza Region) and Chicken Kingdom (Kursk branch) – have the documentation confirming their products' compliance with European standards (the so-called EU approval numbers).
“We have unfortunately been absent from this prestigious exhibition during the recent years. This year, however, we have decided to come back. Though unable to trade in Europe, we will use this opportunity to promote our brands to potential export partners from such regions as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. By participating in events like Green Week, we hope achieve a significant boost to our exports, which is one of our key goals for the year,” commented Cherkizovo Group’s CEO Sergey Mikhailov.
Launched back in 1926, International Green Week exhibits the whole range of foods and beverages, including meats and sausages, fruit and vegetables, seafood, teas, beers, wines, spirits and much more. Cutting-edge agricultural and horticultural machinery, seeds, greenhouses and related goods are also on display. Its programme features sales events, product shows (agriculture, forestry, and landscape design), and various symposiums, workshops, forums, etc. Every year, the exhibition welcomes some half a million visitors.
