Cherkizovo Group takes part in expert council session

July 1, 2019

Moscow, Russia – June 28, 2019 – Graduation research projects prepared by students of the Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management as part of their Cherkizovo experience were presented to an expert council at the media centre of Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper. The event was part of the Young People and Disruptive Technology: Science, Business, Education congress.

The participants included representatives of Russia’s legislative and executive government bodies, members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, executives of leading food companies, food production and quality experts, and university students.

Since 2017, the Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management and Cherkizovo Group have been working together to establish a continuous professional education cluster – a powerful education model for the food industry. The results of its roll-out at the university were presented to the expert council as graduation theses commissioned by industry leaders and medium-sized food enterprises. Over the last two years, 11 initiatives have been implemented at Cherkizovo.

In 2019, two projects were selected after pre-defense to be defended as the best ones at Rossiyskaya Gazeta: Ammonia Refrigeration System Modernization with a Focus on Measuring Equipment and Automation and Improving Performance of Production Lines at a Smoked Sausage Facility. The experts praised the teams’ comprehensive projects and noted a continued positive trend in the quality and strength of the research efforts.

“Everything was done within the continuous education cluster, which embraces schools, colleges, universities and Cherkizovo’s partners as well as the Company itself,” said Ludmila Khutoretskaya, Head of Student Programs and Youth Initiatives at Cherkizovo Group. “We have joined forces to nurture talent for the real business world. Cherkizovo Group has long been committed to helping the industry as a whole, not just addressing its own issues.”

Students with strong theses prepared as part of Cherkizovo experience are included in the Company's external talent pool, with three of them already being employed by Cherkizovsky Meat Processing Plant.

Graduation projects based on Cherkizovo Group’s activities are a key element of Youth project, the Company’s initiative designed to attract young professionals.
