Moscow, Russia – 15 May 2019 – Cherkizovo Group takes part in SIAL China international food trade fair held in Shanghai on 14–16 May.
SIAL China is Asia’s largest and one of the world's major food shows that has been setting trends in the global food industry for nearly 20 years now, with over 110,000 visitors attending every year, including major players from retail, HoReCa, import/export, food manufacturing and services sectors. SIAL China is a member of SIAL Group network of food trade shows led by the SIAL Paris brand.
The exhibition sets a benchmark for foreign companies entering the Asian market, providing them with valuable information on the latest trends and innovations in the regional food industry, primarily meat, dairy, and beverages. SIAL helps professionals to keep up with key industry developments, share knowledge and experience with colleagues from some 200 countries, and build partnerships with Asian companies.
At the exhibition, Cherkizovo Group showcases a wide range of poultry and pork products, including smoked sausages. In February 2019, 30 Russian companies were granted the right to export poultry to China. Among them is Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest manufacturer of meat products. The Group’s facilities to export poultry to China include Vasilyevskaya poultry farm (Penza region), Lisko Broiler (Voronezh region), Mosselprom and Petelinskaya poultry farms (Moscow region), Belaya Ptitsa Kursk (Kursk region), as well as Tambov Turkey. Access to one of the world's largest markets for livestock products will allow the Company to diversify both its geographic footprint and the product portfolio, helping to create a new sales channel.
Meat exports is one of the key business development areas for Cherkizovo Group. The Company has been ramping up exports to the CIS and the EAEU markets, expanding to Middle East, and potentially planning to enter other markets worldwide. The first contracts have already been signed with poultry shipments underway to Chinese distributors.
“The Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets are of great interest for us,” said Andrei Terekhin, Head of Cherkizovo Group's Export Department. “This region is traditionally a major meat importer, and we are able to tap this demand by offering high quality and reasonably priced products that fully meet all applicable standards and requirements. Cherkizovo boasts a wide range of poultry products, and we have no doubt that they will find their consumer in China, given the high demand for meat products in the country. Going forward, we hope to establish ourselves as a major player on the Chinese market.”
