RSPP’s Committee on Food Policy meets for the first time to discuss food market stabilization

Moscow, Russia — October 22 – Sergey Mikhailov, Cherkizovo Group’s CEO, has chaired the first meeting of the Committee on Food Policy, a new body of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP). The meeting was attended by Alexander Shokhin, RSPP President, Oksana Luth, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Viktor Evtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, leaders of Russia’s largest companies from the agricultural sector and allied industries, and delegates of major industry associations.

Cherkizovo Group wins gold at SAP Value Award

Moscow, Russia — October 14 – Cherkizovo Group, Russia's largest meat producer, has won gold at SAP Value Award. The Company came out on top of the Logistics for Stronger Competitiveness category with its unique project that helped improve the sales planning efficiency and customer service.



Turkey meat is very popular, second only to chicken in terms of consumption. As healthy diets gain traction, so does turkey – one of the healthiest meat varieties. Thanks to its exceptional qualities, this product has gained wide recognition from well-being enthusiasts who appreciate its easy digestibility and positive impact on human health. We have done much to develop this segment to meet consumer needs.

_DSC0122.JPGDespite being relatively low at the moment, turkey consumption in Russia is expected to increase in the future. With our high-tech and flexible approach, we have already responded to this trend by adding new products and innovative solutions to our offering.

In 2017, the new Pava-Pava brand entered the market with a unique product proposition and distinctive premium packaging. Vacuum-packed and hermetically sealed, its chilled products remain fresh longer. The Pava-Pava range includes medallions, diced meat, thinly cut meat, steaks, thighs, wings, by-products, and ready-to-cook products, for a quick and easy cooking experience.

We grow the Hybrid Grade Maker turkey, which contains 50 % less fat than other breeds in Russia. This makes our turkey one of the healthiest in the Russian turkey market. It is also unique due to its small size. The entire bird can easily fit into an oven.

To enter the turkey segment, we created Tambov Turkey, a joint venture with Spain’s Grupo Fuertes. Launched in 2016, the JV’s facilities reached their full capacity the following year to produce almost 39,000 tonnes of turkey on a live-weight basis and thus establish the Group as the third largest turkey producer in Russia.

The JV's production facilities are located in the Tambov region, known for its green spaces. Tambov Turkey is fully vertically integrated, from procuring feed ingredients to selling finished products. For maximum biosecurity, we have introduced a number of initiatives to monitor birds’ health and performance, an integral part of achieving the highest meat quality.

Officially compliant with ISO 22000:2005 and FSSC 22000 international food safety standards, Tambov Turkey JV meets all the European and Russian requirements for the highest quality of meat.
