In 2012, Cherkizovo Group announced it was entering the turkey production market segment after signing a joint venture agreement with the Spanish company, Grupo Fuertes. As part of the joint venture, both parties agreed to construct an integrated full cycle plant covering the entire production chain, from feed production to slaughtering and processing, in the Tambov Region.
The main construction phase was completed in 2016 and the project was launched the same year. Its total production capacity is 40,000–50,000 tonnes per year with potential for this to be further increased.
In February 2017, Cherkizovo Group launched the new turkey brand Pava-Pava. The brand was developed to promote turkey products manufactured at the Tambov Turkey facility. Pava-Pava products are already available in Globus stores across Russia.
